A blind, Black, nonbinary musician from Seattle, Davis presides over a backing band that features six hard-hitting women. Together, they fuse rock, soul, hip-hop, pop and R&B in four songs — all drawn from Davis' debut EP, I Choose to Live — that teem with insights about identity, injustice, authenticity, motivation and power. Each song in this set moves at a different pace, from the righteous hip-hop fury of "I Choose to Live" to the plaintive slow burn of "Loud Loud World." But all four convey a clear sense of purpose.

In Her Hands tells the story of Zarifa Ghafari, one of Afghanistan's first female mayors and the youngest person, at 26, to hold the position. The film documents her fight to survive and narrowly escape against the backdrop of her nation's accelerated unraveling.
"I can proudly say that she is not a fictious character who is over dramatized by the media. She is brave and she is real"

"Being the co-creator and producer of The Commodore's music video for "Nightshift", I just have to say how honored I am to see this version by my hero, and fellow New Jersey native (I'm from Paterson and saw you in Asbury Park numerous times). An obvious homage and tribute to both The Commodores and our music video, right down to the lightbulb microphone, the fade ups, certain cuts to the keyboard player and background vocalist. Gave me chills, Bruce. And to date, I have directed and produced a 160 plus music videos for major and indie artists, from Linkin Park and LL Cool J to Squeeze and The Black Crowes. But "Nightshift" was my very first and it skyrocketed to the top of MTV rotation for a year. And the story behind the video is not one I'm sure Bruce knows.
In short, Motown was about to let band go post Lionel Ritchie's departure, but the band believed in their new album and this classic song. They were introduced to me by a mutual friend, and when I heard the track I was blown away. They had no money and literally had to dig into their own pockets to fund the video. Because it was my first, I agreed to produce it for less than $19,000, hence the simplicity of the concept and shoot.
I brought in a TV commercial director who never did a music video before, but we made it work, even though the director referred to them several times during the shoot as The Temptations. None of us expected to be the iconic video it would become. We almost did a sequel version with The Commodores the year after Michael Jackson died, where the guys wrote an additional verse about Michael. They could never get the budget together so it never happened but they do it till this day in their live concerts.
In conclusion, thank you again Bruce. Incredible video and rendition. And thanks for the visual tributes. Now if only someday, I could direct a music video for the boss himself. Congrats, sir. Cheers, Chip Miller (original "Nightshift" producer)"

Beautiful! One of my favourite songs.
A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.

Tehachapi Pass
Right after Tunnel 9 which is part of the Tehachapi loop where they show looking back at the rest of the train coming out of the tunnel, the train seen going over the tunnel is the same train. The steam locomotives in use in the 1870s could not handle all of the grade up to Tehachapi without the loop and all the tunnels. Tehachapi Loop - Wikipedia

Here is an aerial view of the loop.
I've seen a few videos about it and apparently trains 1.3 miles long are not uncommon, probably mundane info for you, but over here they are nothing like that. That ride would be a good day out.

The Southern Pacific rail through Tehachapi is the main rain connection into the San Joaquin Valley from the east. Extremely long trains are the economical way to move freight over the pass. Both SP (The Southern Pacific) and ATSF (The Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe) Railways have rail yards in Bakersfield where the trains are assembled. Additional locomotives are added at the front to pull and the rear to push which are then removed at Mojave to dead head back to Bakersfield meaning just locomotives.
