Hi,
support here in UAE is simply not existing hence a DIY.
Updated one 300i which did not like the installed loadable driver and gave error c180. I "guess"(hope) that I only need the latest loadable driver.
Anyone here could kindly supply the same?
I am looking to update 1x 308 and 1x 224e. Do I need to update loadable drivers too?
Thanks a million. A lot of questions for a Newbie.
If you have access to a MY Konica Minolta website in your country go to the one stop product support and search AU-201 then look at the Firmware tab .Then find the loadable driver for your model machine.
Also look at the read me for the version of firmware you loaded it will tell you which loadable driver you need. You also need update the bootrom and set the function level up to match the firmware . You can find the function level in the read me. I'm attaching the boot rom instructions.
As far as the bootrom update it applies to the i-series .
You can check the read me for the firmware of the current and new firmware on the other models and it will tell you if you need to update the loadable driver.

if you mean your just updating the firmware my understanding is so long as you dont change the function version the driver wont need to be updated for the card reader
I updated the firmware on a little older 300i. Once done error c180 appeared.
Does the function version update as well during a firmware upgrade?
Thanks for ur help

was any of your machines working with the AU-201 before you updated firmware? what was the firmware and function level before you upgraded? What is the firmware you updated to?
Since first machine update worked flawless, I simply updated without noting the old firmware and function ;(.
Lesson learned.
New firmware was supplied as latest version per machine type.
Once I get access to the loadable drivers, will check which function version to set after installing the driver. Hope that will solve everything.

If you put the latest firmware version on your machine which is G00-RB then the function level needs to be set to 2.3 which requires a new loadable driver.
Which firmware did you put on your machine?

If itwas working with older firmware I would put that firmware back on the machine . You can check switch 25 for and according to what it is set to, that will tell you what function level the machine is set to . I would put the highest level firmware that goes with that function level back on the machine. As a rule I don't update firmware on any machine that is using a loadable device driver to avoid problems like this.
if you can tell me what the hex level switch 25 is set to I would be happy to tell you what the function level is and the newest firmware to match,
You also don't want to skip function levels as example you don't want to go from function level 2.0 to 2.2 and skip over 2.1
Hex shows 10- Function Version 2.0 as per service manual.
Unfortunately I already uninstalled the loadable driver for AU-201. Maybe best to load loadable driver for this function version?

FW_AA2J0Y0-F000-G00-RB is the version I installed.
Thanks a million caring on a Sunday.
But before updating each firmware , update boot rom first at each level
The newest firmware for function level 2.0 (Sw25 hex 10) is G00-G4. you should never go straight from function level 2.0 to function level 2.3. you can try going back to G00-G4 then step it up to G00-J9 and set switch 25 to hex 20 (Function Version 2.1) reboot , then to G00-k8 and set switch 25 to hex 30(Function Version 2.2) reboot.
Then if you want to take machine to Function version 2.3 load G00-RB.
attaching readme for each firmware level as well as the latest troubleshooting guide which also explains how to update boot rom. The read me on the firmware will tell you what the LDD , Movie Data and PDFa ,print driver needed plus a lot of other valuable information
