I am writing to inquire if a service technician has a solution for the error code C2557 occurring on the Konica C750i or C450i machines. We have already replaced the toner and Hopper Unit, but unfortunately, the issue persists. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Having changed those parts, it would be a matter of forcing a toner refill from the service mode, and see if the black TCR level goes up. If it doesn't, the toner bottle must not be spinning, in which case the subdeposit won't fill up either. But it's odd, because 90% of these failures are in the hopper unit, and you said you changed it. For a new one?

if you've tried the hopper and toner, then replace the black dev unit. its obviously faulty and miss reporting the toner level.
For low TCR errors specifically. Check that the toner drive motors are running. This can be accomplished by removing the RU, if installed, and cover so that the toner add motors can be seen. In service mode perform a manual toner add and watch the sub hopper drive for rotation.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
I had the exact same piece break on a C750i, behind the black toner bottle. No 2557 code just the machine continually saying out of toner since the bottle was not spinning.
I'm curious if the bottle drive breaking is a common issue on the i-models, or just a fluke on a small number of machines. We have a LOT (multiple hundred) of these machines out in the field and have yet to see this. Just wondering if I should look at investing in a few of these parts to have on hand just in case.

Same with me but I think this is relatively new fault as we also have a lot in the field hopefully yet to see this part break. I may be wrong but never seen someone reported this anywhere I can access info.
Some reports say they misaligned one of 2 leaf springs from factory and toner bottle can't spin leading to no toner could be this breakdown consequence
If that's the case troubled machines should be relatively new if not brand new.

I had a c750i break 3 of these on different colours over a couple of weeks.
I eventually checked their spare toners and on every one the drive coupling on the toner was really stiff.
After giving the bottles a good shake they freed off.
It would seem that the toner compacts in the bottle seizing the drive augers etc.
My advice would be to ensure the customer is advised to give the bottles a good shake before fitting them.

I wonder How this can happen only now not before. Agree on customers not shaking toner bottles but my logic tells me that should be a bad batch of toners...

Thread was perfectly timed - Had C-2557's on a C450i and replaced the sub-hopper. Come to find out that 2 weeks later the YELLOW started (C-2555's). But the end user replaced the yellow toner and it went away.
For others that might see this - you will also see toner bottle level go down EXPONENTIALLY even though there plenty of toner in the bottle. To get them up and running temporarily you can (after sealing the toner port) take the bottle out and shake it to the front.
Thank you for the heads up on the clips behind the bottle - ordering today!

I haven't had the opportunity take a look inside an i-model yet, but are those toner drive cogs easily replaced? It looks likes they just clip/snap in. I'm hoping that the whole drive assembly doesn't need to be removed in order to replace them.
