Hello everyone, I am currently working with a Ricoh MPC2500. I have successfully managed to reset the counters; however, I have not been able to set the coverage values back to zero. This is required for billing purposes in relation to the rental of the equipment.
If anyone has knowledge regarding how these values are stored in the NVRAM, or can provide guidance on how the hexadecimal data is structured and how to properly clear it, I would greatly appreciate your assistance. On other Ricoh models I have been able to perform this task without major issues, but with the MPC series it has not been possible so far.
???
If you replace the NVram this will reset the main counters.
But I would not recommend resetting the PM counters unless you have replaced ALL PCDU, transfer & fuser units.
I performed the PM reset with the components you mentioned already replaced. I am aware that a new NVRAM resets the counter to zero; however, somehow¡ªmysteriously or by a process I cannot identify¡ªit restores the printer¡¯s coverage percentages.
I created dumps and compared them to locate where the changes occur, erased those values, yet they keep coming back. I am not sure if this behavior is related to checksums or another mechanism, but so far I have not been able to set the coverage range to zero. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Explain exactly what you mean by "coverage" I can think of a number of possibilities so don't want to have you clearing something that you might regret.
Also what model do you actually have? You say in the title IMC2500 but in the body of the post you say MPC2500. Two totally different models.

Sorry about the model, my mistake ¡ª it is an IM C2500. It only has one NVRAM. I can reset the counters, but the coverage values remain unchanged (the old ones are still there).cover.jpg

OK, so you say you only want to reset the main counters for 'billing purposes ?' fine, you have done this by replacing the NVRAM.
Your customer will never need to know or know how to find this coverage print out...............

You must necessarily have the nv-ram file of a reset machine and write it on the nv-ram with an eprom programmer...otherwise buy a new nv-ram from Ricoh (about 70 euros, if I remember correctly)
